the friends
Some are friends of mine. Some are heroes. More than not, they happen to be friends who are heroes.
... head of a booking entourage called Round Table Entertainment Group. He and his wife, Tanya, give opportunity for struggling artists to get heard in a forum where all music styles thrive. Cool stuff playing next to another bald jazz pro, a power rock musician with seven fingers on one hand (you should see the guy's progressions) and someone else who writes about ... cocaine?
... began a writer/artist tour called the No Hit Wonders. I think he really created this "conspiracy" just so no one would cut his songs. So far, it's worked.
"... One day during harvest, the Three {of King David's might men} of parted from the Thirty and joined David at the Cave of Adullam. A squad of Philistines had set up camp in the Valley of Rephaim. While David was holed up in the Cave, the Philistines had their base camp in Bethlehem. David had a sudden craving and said, "Would I ever like a drink of water from the well at the gate of Bethlehem!" So the Three penetrated the Philistine lines, drew water from the well at the gate of Bethlehem, and brought it back to David. But David wouldn't drink it; he poured it out as an offering to God, saying, "There is no way, God, that I'll drink this! This isn't mere water, it's their life-blood—they risked their very lives to bring it!" So David refused to drink it." (2 Samuel 23:13-17) This is the sort of thing that the Keith Dudley does.
... Mr. Blue Grass music in America today. Ricky has been and continues to be a friend and mentor of mine for the ages.
... there's not much you can't say about this particular genius. If you don't know of him, you haven't been around any kind of music in the last century and a half.
... he started playing sessions for everyone from Frank Sinatra to the Beach Boys in the late 50s. He signed me to his publishing company and became more than my boss. He became a close friend, prayer warrior (don't get him started on the things of God) and conveyor of great wisdom ... as well as every joke Roger Miller ever told.
... as the story goes, he came from South Carolina and was discovered at a particular club in North Georgia. Yo, Jon, can you hook a brother up?
... In 1974, he released a record (that's like a really big CD for those of you under the age of maturity ... 19) that was too far ahead of its time. He's produced everyone from Rod Stewart to Amy Grant. Once on and off day, he played accordion for some dude named Billy Joel. Genius doesn't even come close to defining this man.
... proof once again that age doesn't define hip.
